A Little Bit of This & Our First Father's Day

Not too much has been going on around here, just trying to settle into a good routine now that I am back at work.  Aiden is doing FABULOUS and growing a ton!!! I look at him everyday and can't believe that just two months ago he was oh so tiny and just 4lbs!!  Now he is about 9 1/2 pounds and so alert! Everyone always tells you that they grow so fast, but I guess I never really understood it until now. Just recently he started "talking" to us... I just love the little coo's that he makes :)  I love watching him develop new and exciting things on almost a daily basis.

This weekend we took a quick trip to Clarksdale to see Pop & Annie, Aunt Shea and cousins Blake, Meri Ansali & Luke (everyone else was working :( ).  We also celebrated our 1st fathers day.  Aiden was just oh so excited to give daddy is new rangefinder that he BEGGED me to wake him up @ 6am to give him his present.  Jim LOVED it, as he should... he only dropped about a million hints that he wanted one!  Later we headed out to the boondocks (AKA Aunt Sandy's) to grill out & swim.  If I had to say, our first fathers day was a success & I am looking forward to celebrating many, many more.

The Hellen's, Italian Fest & Mommy's Return to Work....

So we had a very busy weekend!  It was Aiden's first time to meet his Uncle Steve, Aunt Shannon & cousins Matthew and Christopher, Jim was cooking in the Italian festival & I was preparing to return to work after my maternity leave (tear). 

Aiden absolutely loved his aunt, uncle & cousins (& I think they liked him a little too ;-).  He got to spend the night with them all weekend and get in some much needed bonding time!

Italian fest proved be a fun, but HOT weekend as it always does.  Jim competed in the gravy contest, and although his gravy was FABULOUS, it did not place as well as we had hoped.  Our teams anything Italian entry placed fifth though!! We can always try again next year :)

Mt first day back at work was not as bad as I thought it would be, but it did turn out to be eventful.  I had purposely put Aiden in day care the week before I returned to work so that I could get my withdrawal sadness out of the way and other than some tears on the first couple of days it went well.  On my first day back to work I got a call from the day care to tell me that his tummy was really tight and he was obviously very uncomfortable.  I had no idea what I needed to do... do I leave work on my first day back?  do I take him to the doctor?  So, I called the doctor and they gave me some things to do and Jim went and picked him up and by that evening he was feeling much better!  I hope the rest of the week goes by without anymore incidents!!!

Dr Barrett

We had our two month doctor appointment today and everything was fabulous!!  Aiden weighed 8 lbs 8.2 oz (30th%) & is 21 inches long (50th%).  Dr. Barrett says that he is doing very well and is very healthy.  He got three shots and hated every minute of it.  He did that kind of cry where he was so upset that his face was bright red and his mouth was wide open but no sound was coming out... that made me cry :(

2 month check-up

Day Care & Such

If it was up to me Aiden would not be in day care, but it is not up to me.  My husband insists that I work...silly man!!  Our first day @ day care was not my favorite day ever.  I had a melt down the night before and the morning of.  I called to check on him and broke down after I got off the phone with Ms. Carrie.  I was hoping that she would tell me that he was hating it and that he told her he needed to come home because he missed his mommy, but no.  Ms. Carrie said that he was just fine... he ate well, had a nap and was just sitting in his crib having too much fun with his mobile (although I know he was just trying to be polite, he really did wish I was there).

This week is a busy week for us.  Day Care started, we have our 2 month Dr. appointment, Italian Fest is this weekend so we are BUSY BUSY with the set up & I start work again on Monday :( I am not ready for this!!!  I have really enjoyed the last two months to get to know my little dude, but think I should probably have more time!  I think maybe we should move to Canada where the women get a whole year of maternity leave... if you have twins you earn yourself TWO years!!!! OOOOOH CAAAAANADAAAAA!! 

With this week being so busy, there will be tons of picture taking so stay tuned....
