Our 1st "Official" Easter!

So, technically this is not our first Easter as a family of five... we must not forget our 4-legged friends :)  Technically, last year was our first Easter, however, I do not count the Easter that we spent in the hospital worrying about our little boy who was fighting to go home with us.  Soooooo, I count this year, 2011, as our "official" first Easter.  It was the first time the Easter bunny came to our house and filled our first Easter buckets.

It was the first time we picked out our little Easter outfits and the first time we attended Easter mass as a family.

It was the time first time we went to eat Easter lunch at Noni Annie's and the first time we went on an Easter egg hunt.

Our first Easter did not dissappoint and I can only imagine that they will get better as our little dude gets older!

Spring has Sprung!

This post will be short and sweet.  This weekend was our first in a while that wasn't jammed packed with scheduled events... so we spent Saturday at the park.  Enjoy the pictures :)

LONG OVERDUE... and in the meantime MY BABY TURNED ONE!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness!  This post is WAY overdue, but I have been a busy, busy lady the last month and 1/2!  I may or may not have mentioned that I took a new position at work, but if not- there you have it ;-)  Anyway, this position is currently requiring a lot of travel... A LOT!  So, I have been on the road probably 75% of my time since about mid February.  Mostly, I've spent my time in New Jersey, but I have also been to North Carolina, the Mississippi coast, Kentucky and Arkansas.  On the days that I am at home I am completely devoted to my family... sadly, something will get neglected, and the blog lost the battle :(  I must say, in my absence, Jim has really stepped into the position of Mr. Mom.  I know it's hard for him to do by himself, especially with his back not 100% and the fact that he works a bit from home in the evenings.  I am quite impressed (although, I usually question his choice of outfit for Aiden on the days that I return ;-)!

SO, to avoid a novel, I am just going to fast forward to my little guys VERY FIRST BIRTHDAY EVER!  WHAT?  Yes!! HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! I know, I know...I couldn't believe it either!  April 1st came WAY to fast!  I just can't believe that one year ago my dude was just a little 4lbs 5oz baby!  I look at him today and can not believe he was ever that small.  I held his little friend Wyatt (and my little Godson (pretty proud of that)) today and he was also a little preemie... but my guy was once the same size as Wyatt, and as I was holding him I realized how quickly they really do grow and change.  In just one year he went from 4lbs 5oz to now 21lbs, 28 inches (30th and 25th %), he's crawling all over the place, he's starting to pull up on things, he's eating table food and feeding himself (mostly), he can say dadda, momma, & byebye, he can blow kisses and play peek-a-boo, he loves to give his puppies hugs and kisses and doesn't like cats, he LOVES to be outside and he loves to snuggle with his mommy (I like that too ;-).  In just one year he has changed so much, and I can not wait to see how he changes over the next year!

So, yesterday was his actual birthday, April 1st.  We took him to the zoo for the first time and he had so much fun.  He didn't care too much for the big animals... I think it's because they didn't move as much.  He did, however, love the aquarium and the birds (I'll teach him the truth about birds soon enough... they're not as innocent as they look!).  Then we went to dinner with Noni and Poppy and got ready for his party.  We had his birthday party today and he had too much fun!  We had tons of our dearest family and friends come to celebrate his special day at the Olive Branch City Park for a Sock Monkey themed birthday party.  He opened tons of presents and looked at his cupcake.  No literally... he looked at it and turned his head away.  Then, he looked at it again and wrinkled his nose and turned his head away again!  I have never really been a cake lover (now a hot apple pie and some ice cream... Mmmm), he must take after his mommy.  He was asleep not 5 minutes after we got home and then he woke up to all his new toys and played until bed time!  He has had a LONG day, but I think that he had a good time!  I know I did!!

Here are some pics... ENJOY!!
