I have always had a problem with seasonal alleriges... but who hasn't, right?!? I was prepared to deal with a worse case than normal this year as I was pregnant in the fall and spring and my doctor had worned me that my allergies could be hightened with pregnancy. Hightened was and UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!! Pretty much since the day I found I was pregnant I have become a mouth breather... you know those people, the ones that annoyingly breathe super loud through their mouths ALL THE TIME! I can not use enough Afrin, Claritin, Nasonex, you name it, to keep my nose clear for more than just a couple hours at a time & I can not drink enough water to keep my mouth from being super dry at a constant. I thought that once Aiden came the light would start glimmering at the end of the tunnel of normal breathing.... I was wrong! It seems to have gotten worse, as if that is possible.
I couldn't do much right after he was born as I was breast feeding, but I stopped that at three months and started taking some heavier duty medications to dry to resolve my problem...to no avail :( I finally made an appointment with Dr Taylor the allergist. I go in knowing that they are going to do one of those tests on me that is going to leave track marks up my arm for the rest of the day. I was right and I left that office with 60 little red dots going up and down my left forearm. Not a single thing that I was tested for came back negative... NOT ONE! ALL trees, ALL molds, ALL dusts, ALL animals... you name it I'm allergic! I had been tested before, about three years before Aiden, and the only thing that came back + was chocolate, which I don't particularly love anyway, so no biggie.... THIS time was a shocker!
The doctor called me "sensitive"... REALLY doc?!? Sensitive is all ya got? Now I sit here feeling like CRAP thinking I had strep throat, only to find out that it is just a bad allergic reaction to the high pollen count!!!!! My throat feels like someone threw razor blades down it, I can't quit coughing, I've been running fever, I'm sweating, my nose is running like a faucet & my ears are stopped up.... this is an allergic reaction!?! Is this what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life?
I go back to Dr T on Monday and hoping he can fix me once and for all! For my sanity and for that of my husband (he's been listening to a LOT of complaining :) all prayers are welcomed :)
